Definitely salty. But salty on behalf of all of us. I’ve been watching this BS go on for years and I’m tired of it. As someone who never complains these words should carry weight.

I agree that there should be some consideration toward the community here, but I don’t think the winners had anything to do with social media presence at all unless I’m missing something. Looking at the accounts and tweets, one twitter looks like it’s a sales/giveaway account and the instagram was made just for the contest. None of the posts had substantial likes/retweets, if they had any at all.
If Anker was going for more views/exposure, I imagine they’d be transparent about it and do one of those contests where the person whose tweet/post gets the most retweets/shares would be the winner instead.

Agreed, I didn’t do a deep dive on their profiles though. My only point was that IMO community members should have priority once in a while for high value giveaways. We put in a ton of work. It obviously wasn’t random. If it was truly random they wouldn’t have picked two winners from Twitter and ignored FB completely. That’s all I care to say on the matter, I’m not going to dwell on this but it was disappointing.

Heck no, they have done that in the past and when they were called out on the people using scripts to boost their likes they didnt care and those people still won. I know because i got screwed out of the prize as well as another member here who use to be active but has since stopped coming because of that contest.

Don’t get me wrong, those contests are the worst and I personally don’t waste my time participating in them. I was just pointing out that I presumed that Anker would be clear about aiming for exposure by using that style of contest over the one they just did.
It is always the same thing with these contest.
We participate in this community because we enjoy the conversations. But it’s not worth for anker and so they focus on new members. With giveaways for new members because we will stay here no matter what happens.
If we would open our own community forum with the same topics etc and leave the community they would care.
Maybe we should try this someday
