15% OFF - Anker Rechargeable Bolder LC40

Ok, so a day later than expected, but the LC90 arrived earlier.
First impressions, good weight, budget build, nice bright light.
I’ll put it up against the more expensive and lower output Led Lenser soon and share my final thoughts.

Budget build?!?? My favorite part about it is how strong the build is.

On mine the lens section ( bit that slides back n forth ) has play in it.
If I hold the lens section and give it a light wobble the front end moves and clicks against the main body.
Here’s a super artists graphical representation of movement direction :rofl:

How’s yours?

Sounds like it is a tactical light torch, focus / span?

It should pull out, not twist to adjust focus. Push/pull

Cheers guys.
I know it’s in/out - forward/back for the focus.
The diagram is to highlight where I’m getting play in the head.
If I hold the lens section it wobbles lefts to right.
My other zoomable (all be it more expensive) torches don’t do this.
If this is normal, that’s fine, just trying to establish what normal is :smiley:

I don’t think that’s normal…

@paulstevenewing Whatever you are seeing or experiencing with movements on the torch is perfectly normal…

This ModeL T1423, Bolder LC40 is a Rechargeable Tactical Flashlight

You can change the focus of the lens that way.
The small 30 i got doesn’t have that feature.

HELP!
LC90 and LC40 owners, can you shine some light :rofl: on this question?
Do these torches remain in high mode until battery is depleted (3 flashes and switch off)?
I’m testing the full to empty on high, but have a feeling it stepped down to medium at some point.
I say this as after the torch automatically turned off, I turned it on again but it turned on in medium.
I’m pulling together a little review and didn’t want to quote inaccurate run times.

Nah. The brightness lowers as it the battery gets lower. Happens with all battery’s (and electronics in general). As the battery gets lower in capacity, it’s output also drops.

As far I know rechargeable batteries show other behavior than normal ones.
So it could be that the brightness goes down in steps.
Kumar Sachin can tell us!
@kumar.sachin what do you think?

@TechMan @Chiquinho @kumar.sachin
My other torches has a smart chip that keeps the output consistent until the battery went flat.
The LC90 appears to have the same as the photos i took at hour 1 and 2 looks identical.

Don’t forget the role of temperature. When these flashlights are used for long time their temperature rises and there may be provision on protection circuit to control output. Liion battery output voltage stays flat (almost flat) and they will just go out when empty.

It is true for alkaline or nimh battery but not for liion
