Makes you wonder what they get out of these spam fests…think @AnkerOfficial may have to consider some changes to posting numbers (maybe max 10-15 new topics per day depending on level) or tweaked mod perms to allow temp account bans…

Or maybe allow new accounts to post only 1 thread until they reach level 1

Dare I say it, maybe in situations like this, remove the ability for anyone to make a new post or pull the plug on the forum completely?
Would the hackers get a no response back from Ankers IP/domain server if the forum was taken offline?
I popped a post here with a few suggestions that would not be too hard to code.

So you have a few spammers who post a taste test to appear to be normal, to get past the 1st post moderator, then just go OTT thereafter. So you can’t just mod their 1st post, you must also limit posts per user per period of time, to match that a person cannot type too quick, and limit per I.P. per period as most people are sharing an I.P. with few other members.
It’s the same few members with just slightly different topics being repeated, this one is not hard to block if Anker wanted to. Same I.P. I betya.
It’s for Anker to deliver these features, and to allow moderators to tweak them, so block all posts by an I.P, to catch a real person making lots of different fake member accounts.
But I’ll not need to be in this community much longer as the King of Namibia himself is coming round to collect more Viagra from me now I bought $10k of it. So I’ll not need to discuss Anker products any more.

But especially for new members and first time posters who might have been lost in the chaos.
Was at an antique market today.
So many things. Too many things.
I dont buy, as I dont need.
The customers : Old people only.
No young ones.
Those young ones dont care about antiquities at all.

I am that business since about 45 years.
I was collecting Art Noveau items quite a while.
Then I started selling when ebay started here.
It was an “El Dorado”.
You could sell quite everything.
And I did.
After that rush I have still some items.
But those few (they are’nt few…shhht) I need for my life style, my surrounding.
(I need some stuff to look at)
Some ceramics. paintings, furniture.
What I see and this makes me afraid.
When old collectors are passing away his descendants are squandering those collections.
I know my kids will not do this, because I told them the real value.
But who knows about “real value” in the future.

Unless this is a sophisticated DDoS attack, it’s coming from 1 I.P., these can be stopped with little effort. So, implicitly, none are working on it. I suspect the mods who are awake are waiting on the Chinese admin who has other higher priorities right now.
While I can dismiss at top of the window new threads, and so reply only to existing, this effectively stops any new useful threads til Admin acts.
I have great news, the Nambian King is very nearby, he sent an emissary who said I was going to be arrested unless I spend all day creating new threads and spend all day copy/paste. He’s taken my passport and money.
