Hope everyone is having a good Sunday
Yeah they were some nice views, it was sunny but still cold. There were many people walking their dogs and stuff. I’m home now watching some NFL lol.
Hope your day is going good
Well colder weather on the way… drywall up in basement (now for the fun mudding and taping…). And the toughest decision of the weekend…
@paulstevenewing was this what you meant by whiskey??
I’m keeping the dunkel safe for another week… lol
Two of many… lol…
If I would publish a photo if my beer storage in the basement,
you all would get jealous.
So I don’t!
Nice selection…quite partial to the two single malts on the right
Mighty fine selection… but no speyside?
I’ve got similar two on the right, and some nice islays. The quarter cask laphriog may be my favorite.
Like my beer, I tend to go dark. Peaty and Smokey. Had a black market stout tonight with sup… forgot I had some left… very yum… and strong…
Don’t mind the odd highlands dram
Seems some Whiskey / Whisky connoisseurs are here too.
I really know nothing about Whisky.
But I can tell nice story .
In 2018 I found a bottle of Whisky at the flea market.
I liked the label (old with patina) and the bottle was not opened of course.
Doing some research I found special forums with Whisky collectors.
They told me all about that bottle : ca 1960, price, collectible etc.
Unfortunately it was a “normal” Whisky.
(Not from those special distilleries you got your stuff from)
But I could sell it for a good price .
Never expected that.
Meanwhile I know there are bottles more than 1000 Euros/USD around.
Not only such “old” ones my bottle was.
This will never happen to beer, but wine could be.
The problem with wine is, it gets often spoiled,
(especially white wine)
and it depends were it is/ was stored.
(Not so perfect - > behind grandpa’s oven )
Well heres whisky lesson 1 for you Franz.
Whiskey - with a “e” is Irish.
Whisky - without the “e” is Scottish.
Class dismissed
Gut Paul.
I got it!
Slàinte mhath
Can also be Welsh, Indian or Asia (Japan, China etc.).
Class re-dismissed
“e” : irish!
Technically correct @ndalby
Although some would argue only two countries produce good whisky.
But i will not start that discussion here
