[New Release] PowerHouse II 400 Now Available!

Over four years after the launch of the original PowerHouse in 2016, Anker has just released a second iteration of its largest portable power supply… Take a look at PowerHouse II 400!

Features & details

  • Big Capacity: The 388Wh capacity provides multiple charges to virtually any mobile device. Charge an iPhone 11 (3,110mAh) 23 times, a MacBook Air 2020 (60Wh) 5 times, an iPad Pro (30Wh) 20 times, or a camera more than 20 times.
  • Charge 8 Devices Simultaneously: With a 300W AC outlet, 60W USB-C port, 3 USB-A ports, a car socket, and 2 DC ports, PowerHouse gives you the ports you need to charge all of your devices at the same time.
  • High-Speed Charging: PowerHouse’s 60W PowerIQ 3.0 USB-C port can charge a MacBook Air 2020 to 50% in just over 40 minutes—that’s 40% faster than with an original MacBook charger.
  • Stable Power Supply: The built-in AC wall outlet uses a pure sine wave inverter to ensure the power output is just as good as what you get at home. Reduces audible and electrical noise in fans, lights, speakers, TVs, and other sensitive appliances.
  • What You Get: PowerHouse II 400 portable power station, 65W Adapter, DC to Car Port Cable, USB-A to USB-C Cable, USB-C to USB-C Cable, welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.

Pricing and Availability: Anker’s PowerHouse II 400 is available to order now from amazon.com for $459.99 (plus $3.99 shipping at the moment) and should begin shipping within one to three weeks.

This looks really cool!

A guess would be: PD, more battery, solar option, the ability to handle a small appliance, and user replaceable batteries (when they wear out).

I think I see 3 USB-A and 2 USB-C ports but am not for certain…

I honestly only see one, I feel like I’m straining my eyes since the picture is low res (not your fault)

I like the new design of this powerhouse. Much more modern.

I just hope it’s metal!

Looks good. Hopefully it will have an abundance of USB-C PD ports.

I would love to put the PH400 through its paces, testing it camping other outdoor uses.

I am putting my neck out on a risky prediction.

Edit This will never come to market. Wrong, shipping.

Reasons:

  • the underlying premise of an AC outlet is vanishing.
  • laptops are mostly moving to DC, USB-PD so the reason of AC for a laptop brick to laptop is diminishing rapidly
  • CPAP needs reducing, via a mix of those who needed dying with the you-know-what, traveling less and the products moving to DC (I assume so, an obvious change)
  • Battery life increase of devices, can last longer without the wall socket
  • 100Wh Powercore with 100W output is Anker’s competitor, when the prices are released, the retort will be “buy multiple 100W Powercore instead”. Every Powerhouse II 400 USB outlet simply causes the argument to buy a Powercore with a USB outlet instead and be more flexible and useful.
  • Thermals, the recharge time of multiple Powercore will work out lower
  • Serviceability, multiple Powercore are inherently more serviceable, if you buy 4 of them then 1 can fail and 3 still work, but if you buy a Powerhouse, a component fails, whole Powerhouse fails.

Not 65W PD input.

Only 1 USB PD output but 3 USB A ports.

It seems designed years ago solving problems we all are significantly drifting away from, our laptops are moving towards USB PD input and output.

I know none are asking me if they should buy this, but if someone were then I’d say spend your money on a USB input tablet / laptop and buy a 45W Powercore or two

$459!!! Buys a lot of other things instead.
