Loose USB Connector and Headphone Static

Hi. I could use some help, please!

I bought an Anker 4-Port USB 3.0 Unibody Aluminum Portable Data Hub with 2ft USB 3.0 Cable for Macbook last fall and it’s everything I could ask for in a hub. However, the connector to the MacBook’s USB port isn’t snug and jiggles, apparently causing a lot of static/crackles in my headphones. After a while, it makes me nuts. If I gently press the connector tighter into the port the static all but goes away.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Please try the following troubleshooting to see if that helps at all:

  • Unplug all USB devices and unplug this hub from your computer for five minutes to retry
  • Try a different headphone to see if the issue still persists
