Curve vs sport buds

I have a pair of Curve that sound superb with the 10 mm driver. So I thought the sport buds having the 12 mm drivers would sound better but I was disappointed when I got them last week. Why does the curve sound better than the sport buds?

Make sure you have tried different earbud tips as a poor fit can cause them to sound horrible
