So ever since I have joined the forum, Anker’s naming scheme on their products seemed, at first, confusing to me. What does the + mean? What’s the difference between + and Speed? Etc. etc. Therefore, I took the time and did some studying on their naming scheme, and here’s what I have to say (I guess this could help newcomers too):
Battery Banks
- PowerCore = Usually only has PowerIQ 1.0
- Exceptions are the Nintendo Switch Editions
- PowerCore+ = Has Qualcomm Quickcharge added or USB-C [PD]
- Exception is the PowerCore+ Mini
- PowerCore Speed = Same as PowerCore+
*Note: It seems that the “Speed” line, in general, means a fast charger, hence its name - PowerCore Elite = Has multiple USB ports (mainly USB-A)
- PowerCore Slim = Slim battery bank
- PowerCore Lite = Light and compact battery bank
- PowerCore Redux = Refreshed/Updated version of a battery bank
- PowerCore II = Has PowerIQ 2.0
- Exception is the PowerCore II 6700
- Has PD, C, or USB-C at the beginning or ending of the name = USB-C [with PD usually[
Chargers (Wall/Desktop - Can Mostly Be Applied to Car Chargers as Well)
- PowerPort = Usually only has PowerIQ 1.0
- PowerPort+ = Has QC 3.0 or USB-C
- PowerPort Speed = Has QC 3.0 or USB-C
- PowerPort Elite = Refreshed/Updated wall charger
- PowerPort II = Refreshed/Updated wall charger
- PowerPort III = Has PowerIQ 3.0
- PowerPort Atom = Chargers based on Gallium Nitride (GaN)
- Exception is the PowerPort Atom PD 4
Cables
- PowerLine = PVC
- PowerLine+ = Nylon Braided
- PowerLine II = TPE
- PowerLine+ II = Premium Nylon Braided
My Thoughts:
Just waaayy too many product lines. You can probably remove some of them or just combine them together to prevent redundancy and confusion among customers.
Side note: If one of the Anker admins are looking at this because I flagged it, don’t worry about the flag because I panicked
