Well, that may be a very strange idea: but I think that some bacteria will be used in the future. Especially for computer chips.
Imagine: a bacterium is living, is able to learn, reacts on input. So the “brain” of a computer could grow, at least could keep its actual performance. And it can learn …
So the actions of the bacterium leads to specific reactions - for calculations and so on…
