All my reviews are gone from Amazon, anyone else?

@amangons Maybe we have different rules on Amazon.ca can’t say for sure as I am banned from reviewing, lol, If you look at my example on this page, half way down it says 14 new from …If I click that I get a lot of choices of sellers and all of them are affected by my reviewing that product from that page… If one of them angers me and I leave a review for the product they are all associated with that page and they all lose out. If the product is to blame then so be it but if the seller is to blame then I prefer to target that one seller…That is why they have seller reviews separate from product reviews .
Don’t get me wrong. I Dislike Amazon for various reasons just like you …They banned me and would not let me plead my case!

Anyhoo, we all have are own opinions as long as we target the person that caused our form of grief, it’s all good my friend. :relaxed:

Amazon is cracking down on unverified purchase reviews. Unfortunately they push their own pay for review (Vine reviews) at the top of the review list. Totally unethical behavior.
While searching for reviews I put a filter to remove Vine reviews since they are mostly fake.

How do you figure Amazon vine reviews are fake? Sure they get products for free or discount in exchange for a review…similar to what we do here so explain how they are fake? I write reviews for better or worse regardless if I get something for free.

Why do you think they don’t allow non purchase reviews? Vine program is their own agenda (like it or not but Vine reviews are not 100% trustworthy). Its a bitter truth that a free product will always generate more 5 star reviews than a verified purchase.

I wouldn’t go as far to say Vine reviews are fake but I do think they are often single paragraphed phoned in reviews of ‘oh hey, these are great, do the job etc etc’ as they are nothing out as long as they write a review to get the next product in the chain. If they don’t like the product, why bother slating it, you got it for free and will still keep getting the next ones as long as you review…

Certainly seen more 5 star Vine reviews that are less than a paragraph than 1-3 star variations. Would love to know how Amazon choose sometimes, top 2000 users are probably made up of less than 25% Vine reviewers, above 2000 I no doubt it tips the other way…oh well :open_hands:

Well when I was selected way back when to be a vine reviewer I was too 5000 rating for Amazon so I really don’t know how they choose reviewers. But yea a lot of them don’t go into depth, but I have seen a bunch of then write great reviews whether good or bad

When I was a member on the local public transport forum (meeting with the main provider every couple months. In return (to “encourage”) we received a free pass to use all local services). Some questioned if accepting the pass soured our independent voice… I said NO and here’s why…

If a friend treats you to a steak dinner do you return the steak still if its chewy and grissly? For me the answer was YES. I dont care if the steak is free, I still want a good steak and will still complain, if I don’t get one.

You cannot critique what you do not have.

You cannot critique public transport unless you use it. Giving it for free maximizes your use therefore you experience more failures and place them in context of more successes and form a more rounded, less likely incorrect, perspective.

Amazon deleted my reviews years ago, but sent me this push notification today. :joy: They’re just mean!

Haha, that’s priceless :innocent:

If you want to make a formal complaint and get amazing sorted, use this website… … … CEOEMAIL.COM search for Amazon, and it’ll bring up the email address of the CEO/director.

It can be used for USA or Europe companies (and more).

Alternatively, search on LINKDEN.COM (maybe having gotten the name from ceoemail)

This happened to me as well toward the end of last year. I always wrote thoughtful reviews of items after I actually used them. I never wrote reviews for items that I used a promo code or additional discount on. I was something like reviewer #53 on Amazon.com, so I had dedicated a great deal of time over the years to sharing my experience with products. From what I understand, I will never be able to write another review on Amazon. I didn’t violate any terms of service, so I’m baffled why Amazon would do this. I do know that competitors often report reviews as being a violation in hopes of getting reviews removed. I actually had one seller e-mail me telling me they had done this (ironically, the same seller had e-mailed me a few weeks before asking me to violate the Amazon TOS and write a review in exchange for a free product). I don’t even read reviews anymore, because I see so many that are obviously not legitimate. Heck, sometimes they don’t even describe the product being reviewed or just say a single nonsensical word…and of course 5 stars!

Bingo… The better the reviews (details) the more a chance of being flagged. Most of mine had videos as people love to see the product in real life operation and maybe they were too good or used too much bandwidth. I don’t think I have come across a review with a video attached in the past year.

Sorry to hear that, @donrull! I wish Amazon would actually review the violation reports to see if they are legitimate or not, but I guess it is just easier for them to delete the “offender” and move on to the next victim.

I’m reading the criticism of Amazon, it does appear draconian and disproportionate.

However, the premise of having reviews in Amazon I never really trusted anyway. When I read them they were too liberally sprinkled with poor quality in number to drown out the good quality reviews.

I’d attach more weight to 5 good reviews than 500 bad ones.

Bad knews dominate out of proportion as complaining is carthatic venting.

In the internet era we now have many big businesses the size of smaller countries, so it’s no wonder they act with the same dumbness as governments.

The battle between Google and Amazon has yet to fully explored.

What I liked about reviewing and reading of reviews from “paid” reviewers is that often, not always, but often they would give you more than one line. It means so much when evaluating for a purchase to see other than a generic photo from a seller. To actually see an item through a consumers lens means a lot to me. I take quality and longevity of said product with a grain of salt and must form my own opinion. At least getting a lengthy paid review will give me something to work with rather than a generic “I love it “ or “I hate it”

The ones that make me.laugh, but annoyed at same time…

1 :star2: cos I’m a prick and don’t know how to use or they just bought the wrong item.

This affects the star rating and are just as bad as fake 5stars
