Will Robots Replace Humans!? | Happy Birthday to the “Father of Robotics”

That’s the part I don’t think will be allowed fully occur, as once you lose control over the robot by allowing it to essentially think and be creative by itself (with no kill switch or boundaries) dangers can occur. Hollywood may have a penchant for going over the top in films but quite a few robot orientated movies make good points of the negatives which could occur if robots are given unchecked self learning abilities.

Human’s can be bad enough but are (to an extent for some) guided by emotions and the value of life, just look at the extent some go to for protecting other species, yet would the species return the favour or in that matter would robots?

No sun is warming and expanding. About 1B years til it’s too hot here but then Mars will be warmer, moons of Jupiter also.

Brexit, Trump, North Korea., Justin Beiber.

You think humans can be intelligently in control?

Well intelligence is relative, as it is with many things.

Brexit - some voted over immigration, others NHS but most of the people I know did so because they believed a country should be in control of their own laws, not 27 others (of which Germany often is the most influencing)
Trump - people rolled the dice to go the opposite of the establishment, will he get back in, probably not but it means CNN are not short of headlines :grin:
North Korea - dictatorship regime, they oppose and get killed, get other countries involved, it’s a war.
Justin Bieber - ah, isn’t youth a wonderful thing…explains why voting is not allowed for under 18’s in the UK :grin:

Reminded of an Einstein quote;

Everyone is a genius. But, if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing it is stupid

Brexit and robots are similar in that you think you can control.

Recent BBC story, most likely not what Engelberger had in mind when things started;
