For the foreseeable future, weekends are cancelled.

Due to the delightful government deciding, I only need £11 (GBP) to live on. That wouldn’t/doesn’t cover a taxi to the hospital (single journey) to see the specialist for my disabilities.

People wonder why I’m a grouchy fker at times. lol

11 pounds per day I suppose.
This should cover all your costs?
This is not much! :scream:

But seems, you are still not loosing your humor, keep your head up!!!

The new Universal credit kicked or a new PIP assessment.
They really are a joke. Good luck sorting it out

I returned the kayak I ordered a couple weeks ago and ordered a new one. This time I ordered a sit on kayak Instead of a sit on top one. Hopefully it will be much better. It’s supposed to reach 95 degrees this weekend so were gonna have fun either at the lake or poolside. Packing and cleaning can hold off another week, I don’t wanna miss this weather.

A week, not a day.

Finally decided to start packing so that’s been keeping me busy.

We have are experiencing a heat wave, first hose pipe ban in 23 years, and my poor bike has been locked in garage :pensive:

The girls and I decided to go to the beach today as it’s been so nice. Got all the stuff in the car and off we went. As we got nearer to Swansea the clouds got darker and then it rained  lol

Wish I’d checked the forecast.

Decided on some shopping and food instead

I got a nice watch yesterday at the flea market.
“Old Russian Chronograph”.
SU 27 is a type of Russian aircraft.

But what you all may like:
Take a look at the movement.
Isn’t it much more impressive than an electronic board!

Nice score, I really like that watch. I actually like most any mechanical watches that you can see the mechanism and movements. The one you ha e looks to be a 7 jewel movement which is really good…you got a great deal in it. I would get it appraised and see how much its worth

I’m in this “watch business” since many years.

This Poljot 3133 calibre is exactly the Valjoux 7733.

(The swiss manufacture sold all manufacturing machines to Poljot)

If you have more questions about mechanical watches write an private email.
Of course you are welcome!

Very nice n well made.

I’ve never really been fond of chrono watches, I prefer basic… Time and a date window.

I usually go for diver type. Rugged n properly waterproof, like my citizen. The plus on my.xurrent watch is I’ll never need a battery like an automatic, as it’s solar powered. Plus I prefer a metal strap, as I’ve broke.too many leather n NATO straps.

Here it is…

Great watch!
Those old Japaneses are really indestructible.

Though I’m a retired “worker” I add a photo of my “working day” watch my SEIKO 5.

But I show you another beauty you may like.
Meanwhile unaffordable.
But nice to take a view on it:

“BUND HEUER”

And don’t forget if you are in the next POWER DRAW game, please let me know, as I’ll keep my hands off and will help you by my “magic crossed fingers”!

Very nice watches.

I had an old Seiko 5 auto years ago, all stainless steel, with a solid back. Being a daft yoof (about 19) I considered it an old man’s watch, n sold it (bought for £30 in 1989, sold for £50 in 1993) to a friend who liked it, and swapped his addidas watch (sports style, 50wr, all metal). I noticed it kept gaining time, so took to a horologists, who told me it was a Swiss commando workings and corrected the tick-tock, kept that one for years. Sold it for £80¡ Woohoo

This one now, I got by upgrading the Argos way (Argos, a UK catalogue shop gives you 30 days no quibble guarantee, and returns)

So by buying n upgrading, and doing so several times, but only paying an extra £20 each time, I was able to get the citizen. lol

PS
Thanks my fairy godmother!

No more swappings! :slight_smile

You should keep this CITIZEN!

This watch is quite indestructible
and readable for “old weak eyes”!

How did you know! I can read the time, but not the date (not without strong glasses anyways!) Yet I always change the date when needed. lol

The night glow lasts a fair time too. Obvs not as good as the gas tubes (approx 10yrs) but at least it won’t run out. Plus a 3 second blast from a decent torch, and it’ll glow for another 30 mins at full brigjtness, but also just enough for all night… When fully bright it’s an amusement for the cat as my arms moves in my sleep! lol

What are we all up to this weekend (Besides lurking and trying to hit a comment with a 6 or 8 in the number)

That made me curious, I there any special with those numbers? Some sort of Easter egg?

On China their lucky number is 6 or 8 and anything that has to do with those numbers are lucky

This little fellow I got today at the flea market.
As he is from Vienna he likes listening to Franz Schubert.

Sonic Boom 6
The Selecter
