"Visited the Community" question

Well I see both sides, when you’re low on something you are more concerned. It’s an understandable concern.

The ranks take way too long to get through so I stopped worrying about points too. It’s just nice to come here and post stuff if there’s something to say. If not, I just go around reading and liking stuff. More incentive on Soundcore community to keep commenting and stuff so was very active there in December

That was me when I started out too. Used to be jealous of people up there and tried really hard to make time for this forum but started backing off to use that same time for classes. Back after a break, it was pretty easy to get back to normal since I had some friends here already like @ikari04warrior and @ktkundy who were the people I talked to most before my hiatus

Yeah same I don’t really focus on it but if I happen to think to see how far I am from leveling up like if something reminds me if it turns out I’m close I’ll sit here waiting but it feels like it will still take years to get to the double digits :joy:

So how long have you been a member on the forum @Shivam_Shah
I’ve been active since September 2019.

How far are you off level 10 Kaitlyn? Please ignore of you’d rather not say.
I’m currently on 17714 points, so a way to go yet!

I started out on Christmas of 2018. Was pretty active until about Summer of 2019 and stopped coming here from August or September 2019 to June or so 2020 if I remember correctly

Dang you guys thinking about 2 digits and I’m here about 2k away from level 9 :joy:. Just saw that I got about 300-500 points pretty recently since last time I checked I was at 9k and now I’m a little above 10k

I would love to tell you but not today because I don’t want to start thinking about the numbers :joy::joy::joy: probably further off since you post more topics and I am less active when school gets busy. Also I don’t think you’re that far off it feels so close yet so far

So you took a break around the time i started :sunglasses:
Yeah, 12k for level 9.

Levels 8-13 feel tough with 6k points between, but 13-17 needing 12k between levels is seriously tough.
From level 13 you can’t chase levels, thats 10-12 months to level up, thats a lot of work.

But hey, as much as I’ve analysed the points system, its a marathon not a sprint. At some point we all start to sit back and enjoy the ride rather than trying to sprint to the finish line.

Not long after the community was conceived?
About a year?

Yes levels were easier initially

But when the PB and points were originally invented, the points were intended to be a gateway to privilege which didn’t happen, and bucks farming was diluting the value via worthless threads and replies just to farm bucks.

So now these are not really what anyone should be primarily seeking, more the one or twice a year you win the Powerdraw as a side effect of engagement, helping, contribution.

Imperfect, but working not too badly now? Active members who actually buy Anker products and help others via ownership product knowledge, tend to naturally accumulate bucks and so tend to be represented more Powerdraw winners, when they happen.

Not saying there isn’t a bug, just equally wrong so fairly wrong.

Just a couple of months between, wow!

I can see why the level up points were increased. At that rate nearly all original members would be at VIP level.
Although it begs the question rather than to make it harder/impossible for most new members to get close to VIP, why not remove the higher levels and have an even gap between levels, maybe 6k, and not have a top level.
But that’s a conversation which I’m sure has already been discussed.

100% @professor

Discussion was here

It’s moot now as levels didn’t do anything real, it’s more a quasi sign of not being a noob. A 2016 member on L6 may have put less total effort in than a 2019 member on L6 so levels are not real now above about a L3

If you go further back …

So when the OP sees a bug, which is unfair, I see other historical unfair which kinds of make me think best to drop it and just share help on Anker products of we can.

Yes, i did recall seeing this Nigel.
As points have changed significantly its much harder to rise in levels.
As we know, you can’t always count on the 5 points for visiting. Because of the 24hr cycle of timing’s you can’t always get maximum posting due to work and sleep.

As you say, the levels don’t do anything real.
But psychologically those at lower levels will nearly always aspire to reach the higher levels.

Are levels a thing of the past?
Should all levels have the same point value to level up?
Should the VIP levels go in favour of just a senior bracket just so new members can identify a level of authenticity to a response?

470 points minimum daily, plus an unlimited quantity from likes and replies, thats so crazy its slightly funny!

Yeah better not worry about the points and just enjoy the community and friendship here :+1:
