I was to lazy to read all the comments but I just want to say that Apple sells Anker items in their site

Yes it was a real Anker Cable
I could have been a defective battery, I will agree with the plan to replace the battery. If it’s under warranty just say you only use original Apple cables
As we all suggested: Go to an APPLE-store and insist on replacement.
