Soundcore Liberty Air 2 - Microphone sounding 'faint' and 'distant'

Hi all,

On the back of some great reviews I purchased the Soundcore Liberty air 2 earphones. I have been using it on a couple of calls now and I get feedback ‘you sound very faint’, ‘It’s like you are talking from the other side of the room’.

I have looked at the app for answers, but it seems the settings mostly relate to the sound coming out of the speakers, not for sound going into the microphones. Am I looking in the wrong place? What can I do to optimize the earphones to primarily be used for phones calls? Thanks for your thoughts and comments!

From what device? Android phone?

You could ask the fellows there as well, more specialists there.

Are you sure you’re actually using the bud microphone?

E.g. in Android if you don’t have enabled for phone calls then it uses the microphone on the phone which would then be distant (usually) while sound is out of the bud.

Bluetooth settings need to enabled for phone calls

Why does Android allow it to be disabled? Well it is to stop going into headset profile by accident in certain apps when the audio quality nosedives, prefer to use the mic on the phone nearby, a workaround for some apps. It is also a cheap way to get to use two devices connected when multipoint is not an official feature, connect to two devices, one for media one for phone like tablet+phone.

Thank you for the responses. I have just posted the same question on the soundcore forum.

Just a quick response, I have a Pixel 3a and all settings are ticked open for Bluetooth.
Thanks all!

Try adjusting the call volume

And if that doesn’t work then try switching to mono sound

It’s the microphone, not the sound out.

I understand it’s the call out, but if you search bluetooth call volume for that phone those are the exact instructions provided by Google to help remedy this issue

Thanks for the continues comments all!

Re pairing the earphones did not fix the issue with the phone. The mics work fine on Zoom using a Windows laptop.

Switching to Mono seemed to have fixed the issue! During the last call, my connection was solid to someone who had commented this morning about ‘faintness’.

Thanks!
