Cryptology is a very interesting subfield when studying computer science,
Unfortunately I did not take curses…

Cryptography is very similar math to CRC error correction. They both use redundant matrix operations. One purpose for Cryptography is so the same input produces different output (so can’t reverse back solve decrypt), while error correction is where different output can come from same input to remove errors. Nearly identical math.

Aw, all this talk of the Enigma cipher brings back memories of my uni dissertation which was based around the Enigma cipher and how it all worked! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about that - too many years ago now! I believe I still have the document tucked away in the attic! :relaxed:
