Back before we had digital cameras, I did a diploma (btech) in photography.

Part of the assignments was self portraits (selfies in today’s lingo!)

This was using a medium format camera

This was on timer, using a practika body n Zeis 110 lens.

Nope, im now planning on working as a Doctor.

That’s me, #83. My first year as a nose-guard, in second grade. Never looked back. Any time they tried to change my position, I always ended up back in nose-guard. This was back in 1982.

Here I am in 2nd grade seemingly being caught by Sister Mary Richard (an early advocate/guru of Cuisenaire rods) cheating off the girl to my right. My weak defense has always been that by 2nd grade I’d spotted her as very very smart. I do believe that’s a near-miss lighting bolt to my left.

5th grade, singing in choir. I’ve always loved music and especially singing so this was really fun for me.

I had this really awesome substitute teacher in second grade. He would give us song books and we would sing them together. One of the songs he taught us was Bazooka Bubblegum. He said that if we could calculate the amount of bubblegum pieces the guy in the song ate, he would give each of us a piece of Bazooka. I’m quite good at math, but that day I was feeling a little lazy. So I decided to cheat and copy off the girl sitting next to me. Lucky for me, nobody saw and she did her math right. I still feel a bit guilty for doing that but it was worth it to have the bubblegum.
