Wireless technology has revolutionized how music gets from our phones to our ears. It feels like the sun might finally be setting on the ‘wire age’. Unfortunately, the future hasn’t arrived with a high-fidelity fanfare but a disappointing “wah wah waaaah” from the sad trombone.
First came wireless earphones that weren’t at all wireless; they still had a deceitful length of cable connecting the left and right earpiece. It was better than having a cable tangling its way from your pocket, up your shirt, around your neck and into your ears; but wireless should mean wireless - not almost wireless.
The past year has finally seen the release of semi-viable True-Wireless Earphones (or, as we prefer, Total-Wireless Earphones). These earphones are two totally separate earpieces that lack any kind of physical connection. They’re the first real embodiment of the freedom promised when Bluetooth audio was first conceived.
So, this is the future, right? Cue sad trombones. The cables may have been lost, but along with them went sound quality, battery life, comfort, reliable connections and many other features we used to take for granted. No wonder only 10% of people have cut the cord.
Zolo is taking the a genuine step into the future of audio with Liberty - the world’s first zero-compromise wireless earphones.
We’re convinced we’ve already created the world’s best Total-wireless earphones, but we’re not finished yet. We really want to hear from the people who will actually do the listening. You can help make Liberty even better.
Why aren’t you already using total-wireless earphones? If you are already using total-wireless, what do you like and dislike? Let us know in the comments below and we promise to take on-board every single idea.
